On some product pages, yes — but not on listing pages, and the unit changes: per 100 g, per kilogram, per count or per serving, depending on the product and the country storefront. Two products side by side on the same page often cannot be compared directly. getillumi.net calculates a consistent price per weight for every product on the page and sorts by it.
A serving is defined by the brand, not by any standard. One protein powder calls a 31 g scoop a serving, another calls 40 g a serving. The price per serving then says more about the brand's packaging choice than about value. Price per gram, or price per gram of protein, removes that difference.
Divide the price by the total protein in the tub — grams per serving multiplied by servings per container. It is simple arithmetic, and unbearably slow across a page of twenty products. That is the calculation this extension automates, reading protein content and package weight from each product and ranking the page by protein per unit of currency.
Because the product name states the weight of one unit, not the package. “12 Bars, 1.4 oz (40 g) Each” is 480 g of product, but read carelessly it looks like 40 g — twelve times lighter, which ruins any price-per-weight comparison. getillumi.net reads the unit count and cross-checks it against the delivery weight, so the package is compared at its real size.

No. It reads the iHerb page you are already looking at and does the arithmetic in your browser. There is no account and no server of its own, and nothing about your browsing is sent anywhere. The only thing it stores is a local cache of product sizes, kept for a day so repeat visits load faster.
